Bad morning
Waking up 15 minutes before class starts knowing thats about how long it will take you to get to said classroom is not a great start to the day. True story. I woke up with my alarm and turned it off. Then laid back down, thinking I'd be okay. Yeah not so much. I woke up at 7:45 and was like "omg!!!!!!!" and grabbed jeans cuz it was grey and sad out, a tank and a jacket n undies, ran to the bathroom and got changed. Then ran back to my room, threw my books and stuff in my backpack and took off, barely locking the door behind me. I was running and was like halfway there and saw that I had 3 minutes to get there, which wasn't going to happen. So I gave that up and just walked really fast-got to see a car accident right there on Campanile and Hardy. That was fun...lots of yelling. Yeah got to class at like 8:05 I think..but 3 other ppl came in after me so I didn't feel as bad. Then we did a group thing and I was pretty out of it..but it was ok. After class I went and bought a muffin and a bottled vanilla frap at the mini-mart we have there. That was pretty much my highlight of the morning. Pretty sad, huh?
Weekend in Alhambra
I was back in Alhambra this past weekend. My class on Friday afternoon was cancelled, so I told Mom that she could come earlier since I would be here with nothing to do. I considered not getting up for my 10am class, but I had an essay and a summary to turn in so I got up and went.
So Friday night I got home and unloaded all my stuff, of which there was a lot it seemed. Then I went over to Sterling's for his going away party. It was pretty chill..just hanging out, listening to music. Left there like 10:30pm. At home I sat there and read magazines for a while then felt like watching a movie, so I went and started watching "Rent" on demand because one of their songs had been stuck in my head. But then I woke up and it was the part right after the song I wanted to hear and for some reason it wouldn't rewind. So I gave that up and went with the intention of going to bed, but ended up online talking to ppl until like 2 or 3. I also made plans to meet with Allie for a McDonald's breakfast the next day since we haven't seen each other in more than 2 months.

(not from the actual going away party, but that is at his house..gotta make do with what I have)

(not from Sat. but this was all I had)
Saturday morning: Woke up at 8:45am when I was gonna meet Allie at 9am so I got up and got dressed fast and waited for her to call. She did around 9:20 and had just woken up, so I just sat around and read magazines (still. I had a lot to catch up on). We finally met up and got our breakfast and sat and talked for a while, but we each had things to do that day so we had to leave. It was really good spending time with her as we didn't have the opportunity to this summer.
Saturday afternoon: Went to Macy's with Mom and Cyndi so I could get some shirts to go with my suit. We got 2 of those and then a sweater that looks like it has a shirt underneath so that I have another option for a B-Day dress for class. We then went and looked at the puppies in the pet store-soooo cute. I wanted to take this really tiny yorkie back down here with me. I'm sure no one would of known it's so little and cute. But because it's little and cute, it has a large price tag. Sad. Then we went over to the nail salon and I got the manicure I've been wanting for a few days. From there I went to New York & Co. and got 2 sweaters and 2 skirts since I just happened to have a coupon there. We then went to Pavillions (Vons whatever) so Mom could get some groceries for them and I could get some nonperishable items. We then went home and I took a nap.

Saturday night: Had a family birthday dinner for Chippie at Matt Denny's. I ate a really good burger, something I haven't had in a while. We just talked and had some quality time together and the boys could watch football and baseball while doing so. When we got back, I attempted to do some homework, but ended up sleeping instead.
Sunday: Went to church. We came home and I ate then had to pack up all my stuff, which was even more this time. Drove back down here and unloaded all my stuff. Then went to Vons down here to stock up on tv dinners and milk and buy some lunch meat and cheese since I had none of both of those things. We came back to the apt. and unloaded that stuff then Mom n Dad left and I sat down to do that homework for spanish, only I didn't. And I couldn't think of a topic for my speech. I made a sandwich for dinner. At 9, we watched "Desperate Housewives" which was really good. Then I went and did that spanish and just basically came up with what I could for that speech topic. I went to bed at around 2:30am, sadly, because I'm dumb.

Grey's Anatomy Party!!

So in case you live in a box and don't know, "Grey's Anatomy" premired last night. So Emily invited over friends and there were 11 of us in the living room of our apartment watching the recap show, which talking was allowed. But then the music video for "How to Save a Life" came on and the talking kinda cooled off and then as soon as we heard Meredith's voice start, lips were shut, no talking was allowed and cell phones were switched to silent. It was fun. We ate pizza, swooned over Mcdreamy, and enjoyed GA.

Weekend update!
So Thursday night, I hung out with Jamie, as she was leaving beautiful San Diego for the University of Oregon. We watched tv and then went to her house and hung out there for awhile. Then got some yummy Cold Stone's ice cream. Then she took me back to the apt. and I went back to doing spanish homework, which ended up taking forever and I fell asleep doing it and then had to get up to finish it in the morning, which was hard for some reason and I kept wanting to go back to bed.
Friday, I went to class and hung out at home in the evening. Then Jamie again came over and we got Starbucks. She then went and said goodbye to her other friends at SDSU, then came back and picked me up to spend the night at her place.
Saturday morning I came home and played Sims and watched movies on tv. In the afternoon, I went with Cayla and Brianna (a girl that was going to live with us but it didn't work out) to In-n-Out. We thought about maybe doing something else that night but ended up not meeting up. Later that night Cayla's friends Zander and Matt came over and we went to the beach by UCSD. We just laid out and looked at the stars n talked about random things. Very fun. We even got to see some shooting stars, which was amazing n def. something you don't get to see in Alhambra. Got dropped off back at the apartment n channel surfed n drank hot chocolate.
Sunday is the day of rest. I woke up at 9am n felt really hungry so I ate some cereal and watched some tv, but then I felt tired again so I went back to bed and woke up a little after 12pm. Then I did homework while watching the "America's Next Top Model" marathon on VH1.

Gambling! Shopping! Snakes!

Saturday I did something new-I gambled! Cyndi was down to visit her mom this weekend and asked if I wanted to hang out. So on Saturday afternoon, she and her mom picked me up and we went out to Viejas outlet mall to the new Lane Bryant store. I tried some stuff on that was cute, but found a jacket I really liked. It came in denim, green, khaki, or dark brown and it looks like there is a sweater underneath, cuz it has a hood and cuffs and a zipper on the inside of the outer color, and I really liked it in green, as did Cyndi. So we both ended up buying it-cute we can be twins some day. Haha.
Then we went across the street to the Viejas casino. Cyndi told me to have my ID ready since she got carded her first time, I probably would to. So I had it ready, but the guards said nothing except "Have a nice time. Good luck!" So we went in and I got a player's card with my name on it. We then went and found a nickel machine and Cyndi's mom each gave us a dollar to play the machine on. This game sucked and I won nothing so we left there and found a spot upstairs for her mom to play. She gave us each $20 to play with. If we came out ahead, she got her $20, if we lost, we had fun doing it. So Cyndi and I went off wandering. I went and played Jackpot Party. I wasn't getting much, then I got to play a bonus game. That was fun, and I kept playing on that one, but it stopped giving me money, so we left. We went off and I found Texas Tea, which I know is one of Dad's favorites, so I played that. It really liked me. I got to play a couple of bonus games and so I kept playing. But then it stopped liking me and while I had over $30 before, I ended up going down to under $20. We then went and I played this duck game that basically ate most of the rest of my money, which was totally taken away but Texas Tina, who never let me win anything. If only I had cashed out I woulda made some money, but oh well.
So we left the casino and went to Cyndi's mom's so I could do some laundry for free. I left it in the car and was going to bring it in through the garage. And she opened the garage door and as I walked out, I saw a snake slithering in! AHHH!!! I HATE SNAKES!!!!! So I was screaming and told Cyndi what it was and then she was freaking out. So she got a poking stick to try and get it to come out from under the leg of the pool table, but it just bit her stick. She wanted me to go in and watch it while she ran to get the neighbor, but I couldn't step foot inside the garage because of my fear of snakes. Then I just happened to look up and I saw the biggest black widow I have ever seen!!! So I screamed again and was basically standing there crying and shivering. I wanted to get in the car since I had the key, but Cyndi wouldn't let me. She ran and got the neighbor and after a lot of work, they caught it in a pillowcase and took it down the canyon.
Then I could do laundry. I put a load in and Cyndi and I went off to get some take-out. As we waited for the food, we went next door to Blockbuster to look at movies they had on sale. We both ended up buying 2 movies-"Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "Bewitched" for me and "Monster-in-Law" and "Bewitched" for her. Each one was only $5 so that was great for a poor college kid like me. Haha. So we went and got the food, went back to her mom's watched "Monster-in-Law" and ate. I did more laundry and watched tv. Then went home at like 12:30am.
When I got home, Cayla was still up and we decided to watch "Sisterhood" on my computer since we lack a dvd player for now. We watched some and when Tricia came home she watched some with us too, but I was falling asleep so we called it a night.
Sunday afternoon, Cyndi came and took me to the store for some groceries-like veggies for when I cook the chicken breasts she gave me from her giant bag that she got from Costco. We also went to Wal-Mart so I could buy some files and a little box to put the files in to keep myself more organized. Then it was time to finish homework for school on Monday.

Friday night
So Friday night there wasn't a whole lot going on. After class I watched "Rent" on tv and Cayla had a friend over. It was like after 7 when it was just me and Cayla hanging out and she asked if I wanted to take an adventure with her. So we quickly grabbed a bite to eat at home and then walked over to campus to buy trolley tickets.
We went over to Mission Valley to the Micheal's so she could buy some art stuff since she was going to paint a picture. It got me in the mood to do something artsy as well, but couldn't decide what to do and the store was going to be closing soon so I just decided not to get anything.
After we left Micheal's we decided to shop some and went to Lohmman's (found nothing) and Nordstrom's Rack, where Cayla bought a pair of jeans. Most everything was closed after that so we went back across the street to the Starbucks right by the trolley station and got coffee to drink while we waited.
When we got back, Cayla started her art project and I went online and we watched some tv. For a while we considered watching a movie on my laptop, but ended up not doing that. Then at like 12 or 1am we went to sleep.

Labor day weekend
Yeah so I was home this Labor day weekend. Why? Because I was homesick. This past Wednesday (the 30th) was kind of a hard day. It was my first Girl's Night that I wasn't home and missed my mom. I talked to her online in the afternoon and got sad that I was going to be sitting here eating a tv dinner alone so I cried some. Then I asked Jamie if it was bad that I already wished I was going home for the weekend, and she assured me it wasn't and told me she was gonna come over later and cheer me up.
Originally I wasn't going to come home, but then missed it and was having a rough time and I thought my parents wouldn't let me come home, but Thursday my mom said she'd come get me on Friday after my last class and Monday Bradley would take me back down here. So I decide to go home.
But that night I finished the little mini paper I had to write for my 8am class on Thursday and texted Jamie to come when she could. So at like 9:30 she came over with all these old pictures and letters and keepsakes from our camp days. It was so much fun just sitting there watching tv and remembering all sorts of things and looking at pictures of our younger days. Good stuff!!! I love her for coming and cheering me up because she did a good job of it. I'm so sad that she is gonna go to school in Oregon and that her family is moving to Hawaii soon so this is like our last times to hang out for quite some time.
So I came home and got some sleep-it's really loud down here. And got some groceries to take home. Then Saturday night I went to the movies with Katherine and Stacy and we saw "Little Miss Sunshine" which was pretty funny. It wasn't all like what I had expected it do be about but it was still good. Then we went across to Thai Purple and got some food. And since there is a lack of things to do in Alhambra on a Saturday night, we went home after that. It was good seeing them since we hadn't seen each other all summer, and I barely got to talk to Kat all summer cuz she was busy working.
Sunday I went to church and Target to return something I bought before I left, but found it was all cracked when I went to put stuff in it when I was packing. Then I just kind of hung out the rest of the night.
Monday Bradley and Christie brought me back down and took me to Vons so I could stock up on some more tv dinners and milk and such. Then they looked at my computer to check what was up with my internet and they sorta fixed it and showed me what to do if I got certain messages. Then we went to eat at Chili's (which I remembered how to get to from the weekend before). Then they took me back home and I did some reading for the next day.

My first week of school
Sigh. The first week was long and hard. And it was hard that first day coming home and no one was there nor was there anyone around to care how my day was. That was another first.
My classes were ok. I think I'm going to like my Intro to Hospitality class the best, even though it's going to be a lot of work, but seems like fun. We have to do a scavenger hunt and make a music video, which we have a VMA ceremony for on the last day of class at night at a hotel. Lots of fun.
Haven't really made that many friends yet. It's kinda hard. I realize that it's just been the first week and we are all settling in and getting used to things, but I'm a pretty shy person so yeah...oh well it will get better once I settle in more.

Last days before school started...
Yeah I know this is late..but I'm dating as if it weren't. Give me a break. I'm busy and my internet sucks.
So Saturday (the 26th) I was laying around not really doing anything, just watching some tv with my roomies. Then they left and I was again still laying around watching tv, when I got a text message and then follow up phone call from Paul seeing what I was up to. Not long after I talked to him I got a text message from Cyndi who was on her way back down here. So she said she'd come get me for dinner and a movie.
She got down kind of late because traffic sucked and she had her mom with her, so we went over to Chili's and ate dinner. Then went to Mission Valley to watch a movie. We saw "Material Girls" which actually wasn't that bad. Then we went to the Target that is there and bought something for her mom and they took me back to the apt. where Cyndi left me with computer games and seasons 1 and 2 of "One Tree Hill" to keep me entertained without the internet. I then went upstairs and played some Sims 2 and Life before passing out on my bed.
Sunday morning Cyndi came and picked me up and took me to her church. After that she took me to her mom's so I could "rediscover" the internet and make some contact with friends so they knew I hadn't died or anything. Not long after that I went to eat at CPK at Fashion Valley then back to Mission Valley's Target for some last minute stuff for school.
Cyndi and her mom then took me back to the apt. I got in contact with Jamie and she came over and we went on a little drive around a hill to see the sunset with views of all of San Diego. It was AMAZING!! Very beautiful. We then came back to the apt. and hung out til she decided I needed to see a beach, since I had never been to a San Diego beach. We invited my roomies that were home, and Cayla accepted. So the 3 of us went to La Jolla Shores and walked on the beach. And may I just say-best sand EVER!! That was the softest sand I have ever felt. Honestly, I would lay/walk on that sand forever if I had the opportunity. We then drove down to Seal Beach, which isn't open to the public, but has a pier that you can walk on that was built out into the water. Basically you can hang out and watch seals lay on the rocks and beach themselves. It was pretty dark, but we still saw some and it was really cool. From there we had yet another adventure-to In-n-Out for milkshakes and fries. It tasted really good..esp. at 10pm. haha. Jamie then took us home and Cayla and I were planning on laying around and watching a movie in our pjs as a last little thing to do before school started. However there were no good movies on so we watched "Family Guy" and then ended up going to bed.

Moving in!
Ahh move in day. How exciting that was. Friday morning my parents, brother, Paul, and sister-in-law, Cyndi, and I packed up 2 cars and headed down for SD. I can't say much for the ride down because I slept basically the entire way down. I awoke as we got on the I-8, as did Paul.
I already had my keys from when I took some stuff down the weekend before, so we found parking in the parking structure below and unloaded the car. My roommate was still asleep and I felt bad waking her up, but my other roommmate that was up just went and opened the door so my roomie would wake up. They then left to help friends they have going to the school move in to the dorms, as it was official move-in day for them as well.
After moving everything in and unpacking things, we went to Pat and Oscar's for lunch. We ate and then went over to one of the malls to by a floor lamp and desk lamp that I had seen at JcPenny's. After that purchase, Cyndi left for a girl's night with her friends, leaving Paul with us. We headed to the grocery store near my apartment so I could buy tv dinners and sandwich stuff to survive on.
It was like 4:30 or 5 before we got back from doing all that. So we decided to walk over to campus and found they were doing EZ Books, which was what I used to buy my textbooks so I picked those up. That was painful to write a check for such a large amount of money and it wasn't even for something fun. But that's just how it is now, gotta buy our own books as opposed to having them paid for and given to us like it has been for the last 13 years. Also while we were over at campus, we saw that they were taping "Veronica Mars" on campus. We saw trucks and heard them say "ACTION!" and saw people walking back and forth in front of a building. So that's pretty cool. I may start watching it now that I see it tapes at my school. *note: The trucks were there when I did orientation as well, so it's not like it was just for one episode or something*
After getting back from campus, it was about 7, so my parents decided it was time to go. It was hard to say goodbye, and none of my roomies were around so I just kinda sat around. Later that night, one of my roommates, Emily brought a friend over and we all went to Emily's brother's house that he and some friends share a few blocks away. They were all really nice and we just hung out and talked and some of the guys played guitar and we sang. Real fun. Got home around 1am, and found the girl I share a room with-Tricia-sitting on the couch watching tv, so Emily and I joined her and then went to bed not long after.
