For anyone that doesn't know me, I cry at tv. Often for things that some may not deem cry-worthy. Like when tv couples I like break up, or commercials. Yes even commercials. I'm sorry but Pedigree was mean earlier this year. Already I was crying over a death on a soap opera (don't judge me) and commercial break came and there was these sad dogs in a pound looking through the bars and a voiceover was speaking as if they were the dog going "I'm a good dog. Why am I locked up?" and it was telling you to buy Pedigree food because they donate and support animal shelters. It more made me want to go adopt an animal from a local shelter.
Anyway, so this past Sunday was a tough one. ABC really hit me hard with their shows. First up, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" which I challenge you to watch and not cry or get a lump in your throat or feel some sadness for these families. I can't watch that show without crying. Ever.
Next up, was "Desperate Housewives" which normally doesn't make me cry. But there were 2 particular moments that I was wiping tears away. Firt is this moment:
Bree has been faking a pregnancy so that when her daughter, Danielle gave birth, Bree and her husband would take it and raise it as their own. Previously in the episode Bree told Danielle that it might be hard to give the baby up once it was born. And then he was born later in the episode. This was the moment they shared. It's sad because you feel bad for both of them because it's hard for both of them. Note that this moment on is discussed by OHNO () as being a sad moment that made people cry so it's not just me.
The second part in this episode that was sad I couldn't find a clip of. But Lynette has been battling cancer since late last season. In this episode she learned whether or not she was cancer-free and after she gets the news, she goes out into the yard and sees an opossum that she killed. She had been comparing her quest for getting this opossum with her battle with cancer and how both invaded the home and their lives. And this moment on the lawn she is crying and you just want to cry with her.
Finally, the evening ended with "Brothers & Sisters" which I haven't watched much of this season. But I watched the last 2 weeks, so I guess I'm going to be back on it. Again having to do with babies, only this time, it was a miscarriage. Kitty was trying to throw together a quick wedding for her and McCallister because of the fact she was pregnant and they needed to get married to prevent too much scandal for his campaign. However at her first ultrasound, she learns that there is no heartbeat and is thus a "missed miscarriage". You feel bad for her for losing the baby she was so happy about, and then you learn that her husband to be doesn't even want another child after he just told her that they could try again. Jerk!
So don't judge me for crying at tv...It happens. Also, I'm lacking inspiration this week on what to blog about. Leave me any ideas you have for me!
