What I'm doing right now

So both TBS and TNT are showing "The Wizard of Oz" right now and it's been awhile since I have seen it in its entirity so I am switching between that and Food Network where they are kicking off their "Let's Talk Turkey" weekend. I'm learning how to make a Thanksgiving meal in an hour from Rachael Ray. I'm sure the stuff she is making is good, but if I ever make Thanksgiving dinner (not that I see that happening because I have called dibs on Christmas Eve dinner when it's up to my brothers and myself to host holiday meals) I think I'll stick with the all day stuff that my grandmother does. That's just the way it works. All day cooking and getting the table together and all that. I could say football watching, but I don't watch football, so that's an unimportant detail of Thanksgiving. I mean I know guys like it and some girls do too, but it's not my thing. I'll stick to watching parades if I'm up. Anyway back to Thanksgiving food, RR's stuffing looks good. She made pumpkin stuffing, using pumpkin muffins and veggies in it. Now it's Paula Deen cooking Thanksgiving food. She's deep frying everything. Shocking.

Oh yeah back to "The Wizard of Oz". The thing about it is, I saw "Wicked" this summer while it was in LA. So now I know the backstory of the supposed Wicked Witch of the West. And I know how it really ends. And how the Tin Man became the Tin Man and how the Scarecrow became the Scarecrow and where those flying monkeys came from. So basically that's making me look at the movie a bit differently, thinking "Oh yeah. The Scarecrow used to be _____ and he got that way because _______"...I didn't spoil anything for anyone that is going to see it in the future because I'm nice like that. And if you were going to go through life and not see it, I think you should reconsider because it was an AMAZING show.

So that's what I'm up to this Friday night. Kind of sad, but whatever. I have a field trip tomorrow afternoon so hopefully that will give me something interesting to write about. Oh and just in case you needed a boost of Christmas spirit, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (the cartoon) will be on tomorrow evening on TBS at 7:30pm. I know how excited everyone is that it's going to be on. That's Exhibit H in my proof that Christmas is coming (Exhibit G was yesterday's post of having Chrismas music being played at Starbucks).
