Saturday Wrap Up

Today just flew by, which is pretty nice I guess considering I want it to hurry up and be Thanksgiving break so I can go home. But then it does suck that the day went fast because it means being closer to another week of classes.

My day started at 12pm when I woke up. I had woken up at 10:30am, but thought "Oh, a few more minutes of sleep won't hurt me" and those few minutes turned into an hour and 30 minutes. Whatever. I went to bed really late. I immediately got into a nice hot shower.

After getting out, I found "Sleepless in Seattle" on TBS, so watched that and had a little lunch. Around 2:15ish, a girl from my Oceanography class and lab came and picked me up and we headed to La Jolla to Scripps Pier to meet up with our teacher and classmates for our field trip. We got there a little late, but only by a few minutes.

We observed the amount of mussels and barnacles on the pier pilings as you got closer to the water and then walked along the beach up to the tide pools. Along the beach there was a lot of black stuff, which our teacher explained was ash from the fires that settled on the beach. We got to the tide pools and he said we could go off and observe on our own. I stayed close to him and some of my other classmates because he would point things out to us and tell us what things were. He found a small hermit crab and pulled it out so we could see it up close. After poking around and looking for about an hour, my ride and I decided to head back.

It was very rocky, obviously, and it was scary to be walking on these rocks. They were slippery sometimes, not firm on the ground other times. I did kind of fall on the rocks. I, like missed a step or lost my balance when I was climbing and kind of fell forward. It hurt a bit, but nothing broke. I'm just going to have some bruises on my legs and my pinky finger on my left hand is bruised at the base because when I fell, that was the arm and hand I put out with my notebook in it so if my head hit the rock, it would hit my notebook. And to think, I was kind of confused as to why we had to sign release forms when we got there with an emergency contact. Just an FYI, Mom, if I had seriously injured myself, they would of called the house and asked for you.

Since getting back to the apartment, I've just been chatting online with friends, had some dinner in my pjs, fell asleep. Good times. Hope everyone else had a nice Saturday!
