Trivia Time!

Not much has happened to me today, but what do you expect when you don't get up until 12:40pm (don't judge me. I was tired). Anyway, what I did do today was watch movies. So as that as my inspiration, today's post is trivia from movies. Enjoy!

"Steel Magnolias"
~Winona Ryder was offered the role of Shelby. Later Meg Ryan was contracted to play Shelby, but was let out of her contract to play Sally in "When Harry Met Sally..."

"The Family Stone"
~Billy Crudup and Johnny Knoxville were expected to play Everett and Ben Stone, but the roles eventually went to Dermot Mulroney and Luke Wilson.

"Sleepless in Seattle"
~In the scene where "Stand By Your Man" starts, there is a shot of a flower/candy store window display. The silhouette of the couple on the box of chocolates is of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
~Julia Roberts was initially offered the role of Annie.

"Gone with the Wind"
~There's only one scene in the entire film where all four stars appear together - when Rhett Butler informs the anxious group as the whereabouts of Scarlett's husband after the KKK run-in with the law.
~Vincent Price tested for the part of Ashley.
~Prominent Atlanta preacher Martin Luther King, Sr. was invited to the cotillion ball held in honor of the premiere. He was urged to boycott by other community leaders because none of the black actors in the film were allowed to attend. A forward thinker, King attended because he was invited, and he brought his son, Martin Luther King, with him.

"She's All That"
~Zach doesn't want to go to his Dad's alma mater, Dartmouth. His dad is played by 'Matheson, Tim' who starred in Animal House (1978), which was partly inspired by one of its writers time at Dartmouth. At the end of Animal House, Matheson is said to move to California and become a Doctor... which he is in She's All That.
~The film contains several hidden references to the pop group Hanson, aisde from the photograph during Taylor's campaign. The two main characters are named Taylor and Zac - two of the members of Hanson. Mackenzie, and Jesse - two minor characters, were younger members of the Hanson family.

"The Parent Trap"
~Actress Joanna Barnes played the "wicked girlfriend" in The Parent Trap (1961) and plays the mother of the wicked girlfriend in this version. Both characters are named Vicky.

"It Takes Two"
~This movie could of consisted of 'Full House' cast members. Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) was offered the role of Diane. Bob Saget was offered the role of Roger Callaway. John Stamos was offered the role of Harry Butkis.

"My Best Friend's Wedding"
~'Julia Roberts' hand-picked both Dermot Mulroney and Cameron Diaz for this film.
~In the original ending, after watching Michael and Kimberly leave the wedding reception, Julianne meets a man (played by 'John Corbet (I)' ). This ending did not test well and audiences wanted to see more of George, so a new ending was filmed

Just some trivia for you. Interesting stuff. I love movie trivia. My 6th period senior year was my TA period. Myself and my fellow TAs would often go online, pick random movies and look up trivia about movies. Oh the things you can learn about movies.
